AN OPEN LETTER OF CLARIFICATION TO THE CITIZENS OF GANANOQUE, ONTARIO, CANADA
WE APOLOGIZE:
On behalf of CaraCo Development Corporation, developers of Stone & South on the River, I want to publicly apologize for the recent misunderstanding regarding an email requesting a list of candidates running in the upcoming Municipal election. Our well-meaning email sent from our accounting department asked for clarification on whether political contributions could come from companies or individuals. We asked for a list of ALL CANDIDATES who might benefit from personal, not corporate contributions.†This is entirely within the Municipal Election rules and regulations. In no way was this request intended to influence anyone. We understand the importance of running for public office. Our intention was to offer support for our democratic municipal election process, for the greater good of Gananoque.
WE RESPECT THE ABORIGINAL HERITAGE OF THE GANANOQUE COMMUNITY:
Again, the issue of the land’s Aboriginal heritage has surfaced. We want citizens to know that all at CaraCo have the utmost respect for our country’s and our community’s Aboriginal heritage. As a developer, we completed an archaeological survey, which was part of our due diligence. Nothing of significance was found from the survey and dig, and our project was approved months ago.
