CANADA’S QUEEN OF R&B JULLY BLACK TO ROCK PAINTBOX BISTRO – Saturday, September 13, 2014

TORONTO, September 5, 2014… A new season of entertainment, ‘Live at the Paintbox’ brings an exciting lineup of musicians to Regent Park’s Paintbox Bistro, with a special performance by Juno award winner Jully Black, on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 9pm.
Jully Black has perfected her explosive live performance that showcases her unique and powerful voice as well as her ability to engage audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
She has opened for Kanye West in Singapore; performed for Queen Elizabeth; performed on the same bill as Celine Dion at the 2012 Jamaica Jazz Fest; was the main act for Canada Day celebrations in London, England.
This Canadian-born, triple threat (singer/songwriter/performer) has collaborated and written for many artists, including Nas, Saukrates, Choclair, Kardinal Offishall, Destiny’s Child and Sean Paul.
For a rare appearance in an intimate setting, ‘Canada’s Queen of R&B’ brings her dynamic show to Paintbox Bistro featuring music from her latest release ‘Made In Canada.’
Influenced by Etta James and Tina Turner, Black has combined her traditional R&B roots with the rhythmic and eclectic musical stylings of YoungPete Alexander to create songs that span the music genre spectrum, incorporating elements of Soul, R&B and Pop, that have been described as ‘The New Motown Sound.’ This is a show you won’t want to miss.
Proceeds from this not-to-be-missed event will be donated to the Archie Alleyne Scholarship Fund.
