Charles Chevrette is McMillan LLP’s new Montréal Management Partner

MONTREAL, April 1/10 – Charles Chevrette has been named Management Partner of McMillan LLP’s Montréal office.
Former Management Partner, Andrew Etcovitch, who served as the head of both Mendelsohn LLP and McMillan’s Montréal office for eight years, continues his practice in the Tax Group.
Mr. Chevrette leads the Montréal office as it celebrates its 60th Anniversary in 2011.
“It’s an evolution, not a revolution,” said Mr. Chevrette, who looks forward to his term as Management Partner and the opportunity to reinforce McMillan’s position as a key player in its four major areas of practice:  debt products/restructuring and insolvency, corporate/commercial, commercial real estate and commercial litigation.
Mr. Chevrette’s appointment was announced by McMillan’s Chief Executive Officer Andrew Kent.
 
About Charles Chevrette
Mr. Chevrette is a partner and member of McMillan’s Corporate Group. His practice focuses on private equity, venture capital, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and technology transfer. Over the years, he has been involved in many major technology financings and buy-out transactions, acting for large and medium-size venture capital funds, institutional investors and start-up companies.
Mr. Chevrette was a member of Mendelsohn LLP from 2000-2004. Between 2004 and 2006, he was a partner in a private equity investment boutique which he co-founded. He returned to the firm in 2006, after Mendelsohn merged with McMillan. Before joining Mendelsohn, Mr. Chevrette served as Assistant Chief of Staff and Political Advisor to the Premier of Québec and to the Leader of the Opposition in the House of Commons (Ottawa).
