Daniels, Toronto Community Housing and JAZZ.FM91 make music together
TORONTO, March 26, 2014 – After a successful concert series in 2013, Jazz.FM91 together with presenting sponsors The Daniels Corporation and Toronto Community Housing are launching a new series of free monthly performances for children at Paintbox Bistro, in the heart of the Regent Park revitalization in Toronto’s Downtown East. The new series will run from this month until August and feature six unique educational events for children and families.
Designed to foster an appreciation for the musical arts, the free series features a select group of exceptional entertainers who will present engaging musical concerts for children. Each Junior Jazz Jam will feature audience participation including singing, clapping, and dancing as well as the introduction of basic music concepts.
The Junior Jazz Jam series kicks off with the Sophia Perlman Quartet on Saturday, March 29th @ 10:00 AM at the Paintbox Bistro during brunch service, offering families an enjoyable and engaging weekend activity in a relaxed and casual environment. The series will then continue on Saturday, April 26th @ 10:00 AM with Autorickshaw.
Additional series performances will take place on May 24th with Kwasi Dunyo; on June 14th with Thompson Egbo-Egbo Trio; on July 19th with Terra Hazelton Trio; and on August 16th with Lester McLean Trio.
