Over 112 years ago, Marshall Mattress was established in Toronto by English-born James Marshall, a machinist and engineer.  In 1900, he received a Canadian patent for his unique invention…the world’s first individual pocketed spring mattress; which today is the proven global standard for innerspring mattress design.  Marshall envisioned a mattress where internal fully independent pocketed springs would provide support, comfort and durability within the mattress itself.
