Evaluation based on Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute
MARKHAM, ON – May 4, 2010 – McAfee today announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc., a premier research and advisory firm, in the Leaders Quadrant of the “Magic Quadrant for Secure E-mail Gateways” report published on April 27, 2010 (written by: Peter Firstbrook and Eric Ouellet).
This report evaluates 17 vendors. According to Gartner, “Leaders are performing well, have a clear vision of market direction and are actively building competencies to sustain their leadership positions in the market. Companies in this quadrant offer a comprehensive and proficient range of e-mail security functionality, and show evidence of superior vision and execution for current and anticipated customer requirements. Leaders typically have relatively high market share and/or strong revenue growth, own a good portion of their threat or content-filtering capabilities, and demonstrate positive customer feedback for anti-spam efficacy, and related service and support.”
“We consider our positioning in the leaders quadrant by Gartner a confirmation of the McAfee strategy to deliver email security solutions that deliver superior protection while providing flexible deployment options for our customers,” said Dan Ryan, executive vice president and general manager of the Network Security business unit at McAfee. “With the acquisition of Secure Computing in 2008 and the addition of MX Logic in 2009, we feel McAfee now has the industry’s broadest email security portfolio, providing on-premise appliances, software-as-a-service (SaaS) and hybrid solutions for our customers.
McAfee delivers email security solutions as both on-premise appliances and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS). McAfee SaaS services can be combined with on-premise and virtual appliances for a hybrid delivery.
