TORONTO, April 19, 2013… Paintbox Bistro brings the live Jazz tunes of The Joe Sealy Trio to Regent Park on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 8pm.
Pianist Joe Sealy enjoys a highly – successful career as a musician, composer, recording artist and radio broadcaster. His powerful 1997 album, Africville Suite won a Juno Award and in 2010, he was named a Member of the Order of Canada.  Joe will perform with his long-time musical partner bassist Paul Novotny and drummer Daniel Barnes.

Saturday, May 11, 2013  @ 8 pm – THE HEILLIG MANOEUVRE
The Heillig Manoeuvre quartet, founded by bassist Henry Heillig in 1998 performs and records Heillig’s original jazz compositions. He describes the band’s repertoire as “more songbook than doctoral thesis”. Heillig is best known for his 30+ year stint as musical director of Manteca. A prolific Toronto jazz freelancer, works extensively with harmonica giant Carlos del Junco. He also produces recording projects and live events.
Saturday, June 1, 2013 @ 8 pm – ROBI BOTOS TRIO
Robi Botos is a pianist multi-instrumentalist of Hungarian descent who has quickly joined the ranks of Canada’s elite musicians. Having been mentored by the great Oscar Peterson, Robi Botos has received numerous awards and accolades throughout his career including a 2007 National Jazz Award for “Keyboardist of the Year”, 2007 NOW Place and public Prizes at the 2004 Montreux Jazz Festival Solo Piano Competition and 2008 Great American Jazz Piano Competition.
Saturday, June 15, 2013 @ 8 pm – ARCHIE ALLEYNE AND KOLLAGE
Alleyne is a true legend of the Toronto jazz scene, having spent over 10 years in the house band at the fabled Town Tavern, as well as being the drummer of choice for many visiting band leaders. Alleyne was made a Member of the Order of Canada in 2011, in honour of both his musical longevity and his support of young musicians through his foundation, the Archie Alleyne Scholarship Fund. Alleyne will perform alongside Stacie McGregor on piano and Artie Roth on bass, and Alexander Brown Cabrera on trumpet.
